Summary
The CIPAC code number system is a simple approach for
an unambiguous coding of active ingredients and variants used in the
area/field of pesticides
(for more details see the document "What
are CIPAC Code Numbers").
The compounds
are easily identified and searched by these codes, also used by many
authorities such as the EU, FAO and WHO. You find the CIPAC Code also
in the Cumulative Index covering the content of most Handbooks. Please
find below a table containing at present more than 700 compounds. If
you want to have a new active ingredient a CIPAC Code allocated, proceed
as follows.
- Propose an ISO common
name for the new compound
- Contact Dr Ralf Hänel
and ask for the allocation of a CIPAC Code for the compound.
