Outline of method

A known quantity of the capsule suspension is transferred to a glass bottle and is then subjected to a rolling movement with a specified amount of hexane containing an internal standard. After rolling for a specified period the amount of free pirimiphos-methyl in the hexane layer is determined by capillary gas chromatography.

Scope

The method is intended only for the determination of free pirimiphos-methyl in CS formulations for public health applications.
